A first time Night Pro Jump Event at the US Nationals.

Barry Young, tournament organizer of the 2016 GOODE Water Ski National Championships, has announced that a men’s professional night jump invitational will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, in conjunction with the Nationals. The 74th annual Nationals will be held Aug. 8-13 at the Broadside Harbor Ski Club in Caldwell, Idaho. U.S. water ski athletes Scot Ellis, Taylor Garcia, Freddy Krueger, Mark Lane, Nick Lang and Zack Worden have already verbally accepted invitations to the event, which is expected to include a cash prize totaling $20,000.

What a great idea.  But, I would invite some non-US skiers, starting with Ryan Dodd.

A little less like a "US Nationals" event if you invite other countries to participate

Make it a handicapped event.

Some formula of average jumps in qualified tourneys the last year and make them jump against that.

Otherwise what chance would anybody have against the Nightmare?

Sounds like six of the eight spots are already filled. Looks like a Pro event with a few young guns thrown in. Anyone want to bet if the greenwood kid gets a invite?

I will be there

Excited to see it!  It would be cool if they had some sort of event, or selected events to fill the remaining spots.  There is no need for a handicap, or inclusion of OUS skiers.  Sit back and enjoy.

It's the absolute best thing I've seen for the Nationals in the several years since the U.S. Open got separated from the Natl's.  Pardon me, but if you want to watch 34 mph slalom, there is plenty of that during the day.  This is special!

Hopefully these guy's invited in the night event will also be entering the national championship! Kinda lame to show up and take the money and not support the National championship's!

Looks like Zed called it. With the exception of Sam (M1) and Nick, non of the others in the night jump are currently registered for the nationals. Pretty lame if you ask me.
