Just setting a new jump course. What width from the course do you guys set the distance marker buoys at?

Good question, ours are outside of the left side of the jump, may be lined up with it. I'll find out why

8 meters to the left (outside) of the centerline of the ramp.

Back in the prime days of Tour-ing, we found that 8m was a little close/distracting. Went to more, like 10m. We did have a relative large buoy for the distance record(s), that was some 3' in diameter, with a sponsor name on it,

If a skier wants a boat spacing of just outside the 15m buoy, the boat would be running about 16m off the ramp centerline. If the skier lands at 90 degrees to the boat, they would land about 24m off the pylon (23m line + 1m for arm/body). 24-16 = 8m, so 8m buoys could get landed on.
