It sure seems like this message board has gone pretty quite since last fall when Scott decided to share IP addresses with a certain loud person in central florida.

Was it worth it Scott?  Betraying your posters like that?  Breaking the anonymity trust code this site prided itself on?  How can any trust that their posts on here will actually remain entirely anonymous?

Bluntly, they can't.  And then they'll have to defend themselves against whatever comes back at them from the next person that Scott shares IP addresses with, kinda like what mark shaw had to deal with.

Interesting that instead of just blocking the "offenders" IP address that you would share them with SG.  Would love to know why you were willing to share them this time when you have never done anything like that in the past.  Maybe the jump coaching / SG son connection?

Things that make you scratch your head....

Anyone with any knowledge of tech would have seen those IP addresses and immediately exonerated Shaw. The whole thing was a scam to convince gray-haired old committee members that Shaw was unsportsmanlike or disruptive. It was a complete bluff. So the interesting question that no one is asking is who are scary men behind a curtain in the smoke-filled rooms trying to crucify Shaw and why?

In this whole thing Scot is but a spineless accomplice.

You guys are still on that? News flash... nobody cares.
Only reason this site has gone somewhat silent is because it’s January! Only thing I’m doing in January that is even remotely skiing related, is going to a boat show and drinking beer!
@Wondering, from the sound of your message it sounds like you could use a few ice cold beverages. Maybe they will help turn your tears into laughter. Hell, you might even enjoy waterskiing more.

I am scratching my head and my spine in still intact.    Myself, family and this message board was subpoenaed by both sides to whatever lawsuit was going on.   Skifly and myself chose NO side on the matter and expressed this from the beginning.  I obeyed the subpoena and gave up IP and content.  NO personal info was given out.  (not like there is any personal info here anyway).

Understand this.   ANYONE on here does some stupid S**t like this again, I will turn over whatever IP and/or content to law enforcement.   Believe it or not when someone on here gets picked on or bullied, I do help them out by sending a private message or taking off the bad content.  Normally that stops it.

No one was after Marc and the content both sides were after had nothing to do with Marc.

I wish ANYONE on here would come to me personally and ask what's going on.  I understand hiding behind a screen is secure and safe but try communicating the old fashion way and use your words in person.

Can you explain what stupid S**t  you're referring to that you would turn over to law enforcement?  What was posted that wouldn't be protected under a persons 1st amendment right that the U.S. always brags about?

How can you send that person a message if you don't know who they are?

Wondering..........1st Amendment rights     WOW       Once again someone hiding but that's what this site the is all about.    I am glad your enjoying the message board.

Stupid Shit.      Talking about a minor in explicit ways !      Is that stupid enough for you.    You need something worse than that?

Hmmm?

Well Roger, I'd say that anyone that uses this site these days would be smart to protect themselves from moderators that share IP addresses with people beyond supposed subpoenas.

Talking about a minor in an explicit way or possibly outing an adult inappropriately conversing with a minor in an explicit way?  Which one is the problem for you?  Are you protecting the minor or trying to hide the adult?

I don't think you answered the question.  You said "NO personal info was given out.  (not like there is any personal info here anyway)." yet you then state "when someone on here gets picked on or bullied, I do help them out by sending a private message".

Can you explain how you send someone a private message when as you state there isn't any personal info on here?

Good on you Roger. This site is for the waterski world and no one should post anything here they are not willing to stand behind. That’s what is wrong with the world today. There are some real tough guys there hiding behind anonymity. Those that are worried about being outed on a website for the stupid sh!t they say probably don’t need to post here anyway. I am sure the purpose for the website was to discuss and talk about things important to the ski world. Skifly rocks. To hell with the trouble makers out there

Seems to be a story that folks are unable to talk about on the "other" ski website.  I guess anonymity could be a good thing...

Ignorance is one thing but, when you’ve heard allegations from one side, that make the guy sound like a predator, coming from a girls mom, you wonder if she’s just on a vendetta. Or, maybe he is.
Maybe she’s 100% correct. Or, maybe her little girl just got her heart broken. Did mom know of the relationship prior to him hurting her feelings? If so, how did she feel about it while it was ongoing?
Maybe he’s just a creep. That, in itself, is not illegal. Did he do something illegal? If so, I guess the ignorant will find out. Ruining his whole career, livelihood, and life? Well if he did something serious enough, he did it to himself and it is terrible for the victim(s) involved. If not, you’re just an angry person burning people alive and destroying lives.
Did he destroy hers? Did he commit any crime? Did he abuse a position of authority?
Or, did he act in a manner that a cocky world champion athlete or rockstar may act?
I have seen the text (making the assumption that it is real) where he’s chasing a 16 year old. At the time he’s 25, I believe. That says something of a psychological/developmental disorder, in itself. I hope the innocent are protected, whether it’s the purported victim(s) or, if innocent, the alleged offender.

Phones were confiscated. Nothing nefarious was found. Case closed. Crazy divorced mommy is mad her baby doesnt want to live with her and ski with her wack job boyfriend who happens to ski at girl speed too, so they file a complaint with SafeSport to continue their loony tune defamation game.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain who likes to cut buoys off a slalom course so nobody can ski, including himself.

Just goes to show you that attorneys pursue revenge in a way that damage themselves more than the object of their misguided anger.

If you think pursuing a 16 year old when you're 25 is no big deal...we'll you might ask a mom or 2 or a dad of the 16 year old. Whether the 16 year old was not having any probs with it or not.

@Oogboy

"Child marriage in the United States refers to a marriage in the United States where at least one party is under the age of 18.[1]

Between 2000 and 2015, over 200,000 minors were legally married in the United States.[2] The vast majority of child marriages were between a child and an adult.[3][2] The majority of married children were girls.[2]

In the United States, marriage age laws are set by the various statesterritories and federal district. As of January 2019, 48 out of 50 states have exceptions in their laws which allow children to marry in certain circumstances such as parental consent, judicial consent, pregnancy etc (In 2018, Delaware[4] and New Jersey[5] completely banned child marriage). Of those 48 states, 17 have no minimum age for children to marry. The federal district and territories all have similar legal exceptions which allow children to marry, except for American Samoa.[6]

From 2016-2019, 12 states raised their minimum age for minors to marry, or added a minimum age when they previously did not have one.[7]

In many cases, minors in the US are married when they are under the age of sexual consent in their area (which ranges from 16 to 18).[8] In some areas minors cannot legally divorce, leave their spouse, or enter a shelter to escape abuse.[9][10] In 2001 in Tennessee, three 10-year-old girls were married to men aged 24-31.[3] Meanwhile in Alabama, a 74-year-old man married a 14-year-old girl.[2] Both states have since set minimum ages, of 17[11] and 16 respectively.[12]"

Just say'n

It not right but ...

If anything was goin on ,it had parental consent until after the fact.

@Brent - not talking about marriage here, and the age of consent in Florida is 18.

I don't think this is about crimes either, its about ethics, morals and being a coach in our sport where young children are involved.

I have heard stories dating back to at least 2015, likely earlier.  I know 1 party declined to participate in any charges when an assault of some kind occurred, which is their prerogative.

🤦🏼‍♂️

You really are dumber then you look and you sound a little like another girl speed skier dealing with his own legal issues. Case is not closed at least not with SafeSport and the fact that you think "crazy" mommy and her boyfriend initiated this shows what you know. It's not defamation if it's true.

They are not the ones behind this investigation but it's ok. Keep redirecting this and blaming (the wrong) people for initiating the investigation as opposed to waiting to find out that it’s really true. If this were merely a mother upset about her daughter getting her heart broken then SafeSport would never have investigated.

Seriously...a girl speed dig? I feel bad for you, that’s so sad

You and Brent may need to get someone to read this for you (SafeSport Chart https://docs.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=https://77media.blob.core.windows.net/uscss/1550677317765.safesport_infographic_021919_v4.pdf) but the jist of it is that there are a lot of steps that happen before an investigator is even assigned and even more steps before they make an announcement like they did.

Brent, again, ignorant f-ing comment.....what is wrong with you. There was never parental consent and you would know that if you actually knew anything.

This will probably get deleted like a lot of posts regarding this matter, I guess it makes sense, let’s continue to suppress the truth.

Wow

Rational/respectful dialogue appears to be dead [frown]

Hoping someone is not guilty of something & still discussing what they are accused of is rational , disrespecting anyone that has a different point of view in a discussion is just rude & child like .

copying a link is what people do . Why didn't you just post it with out the extra stuff , most would say oops my bad ,instead of insulting someone who points out the link is bad .

Amazing how rude people are when not using their name ,but I am guessing you are not much different in person [frown]

Essential it is being investigated ,convicting someone before an investigation is complete is very unfair ,let Safesport do their investigation ,so far nothing has been decided .

"I have read all of the texts. An immature choice to be sure. But in my judgement when read fully and not many people have seen the entire string as  most have seen the edited ones only.  Look I'm not thrilled with this body of work. Piss poor choices by him. But make sure you read the whole text not the redacted cut and paste ones some were sending around" - steve_garcia_

Doesn't safe sport exist exactly for this sort of problem behavior?
